We do this by empowering our employees, encouraging innovative solutions and recognizing great performance.POSITION SUMMARYThe Sr Sales Manager is responsible for the successful leadership, development, and performance of a team of mortgage loan originators in a high-volume call center environment. In addition to all traditional Sales Manager duties, the Senior Sales Manager serves as a strategic thought leader, contributing to organizational improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and broader company initiatives.DIRECT REPORTS (For Comp reference only; section not to be included in Workday JD)List what positions report into the role.Mortgage ConsultantsDESCRIPTIONEssential Functions, Duties, and ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & CoachingManage loan originator performance, motivation, scheduling, training, and policy adherence.Conduct advanced coaching sessions, call reviews, and skill development workshops.Set clear expectations around sales activities, client engagement, and conversion standards.Drive a high-performance culture rooted in accountability, ethics, and excellence.Pipeline Management & ProductionReview team and personal pipelines daily/weekly to ensure production targets are met.Maintain personal loan production as assigned.Ensure accurate forecasting, disciplined follow-up, and strong file quality.Compliance & Quality ControlEnsure all loan presentations, terms, and rates align with Newrez and regulatory guidelines.Maintain full adherence to Newrez Code of Conduct.Conduct periodic compliance audits and reinforce best practices.Customer Experience ManagementResolve escalated customer concerns quickly and professionally.Coach loan originators on communication standards and expectation-setting.Recruitment & Talent DevelopmentRecruit, interview, and select high-quality mortgage loan originators.Mentor developing talent and support succession planning.Deliver structured onboarding and training sessions.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Operations to ensure production flow, quality, and efficiency.Work with Regional leadership to support team and center-wide objectives.Participate in corporate working groups and strategic initiatives.Qualifications and Education Requirements6-8 years Loan Consultant experience. Minimum 5 years in the mortgage industry.Minimum 6 months in a Newrez management or senior leadership role.Proven success mentoring, coaching, and elevating Mortgage Consultants.Experience in call-center or high-volume phone/internet sales environments.Skills, Abilities, and KnowledgeStrong leadership presence with the ability to inspire and influence.Advanced coaching skills with a track record of improving performance.Detail-oriented with strong time management and follow-through.Data-driven decision-making and pipeline analysis capability.Excellent communication and persuasive selling skills.Ability to delegate effectively while maintaining high accountability.Work Environment and Physical RequirementsWorking on-site at assigned office location.Regular and punctual attendance adhering to schedule established by leadership.Flexibility to work occasional adjusted work schedules, overtime, and evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines or as business needs demand.Working in a cubicle hub, maintaining focus on phone calls in a noisy environment within earshot of multiple other conversations.Sedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods of time.Constant repetitive motions required for operating a computer, such as typing and managing phone calls.Constantly communicating effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.Additional InformationWhile this description is intended to be an accurate reflection of the position’s requirements, it in no way implies/states that these are the only job responsibilities.
