Duration: 11/02/2026 - 12/30/2026
Shift: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM | 12 Hours/Day | 36/48 Hours/Week (48-hour options accepted)
Pay Range - $65/hr - $68/hr.

Schedule Notes:

Every other weekend.
Maximum of 3 UTs allowed.
Weekend make-up policy applies.
Must be able to float to all ICUs, including ICU patients in the ED and PACU awaiting bed placement, as well as the neuro-progressive floor.
Navy blue scrubs REQUIRED.
Must have previous travel experience.
Competency test required within 24 hours of submission and will be sent to the candidate's email. Ensure an up-to-date email address is provided at submission.
Candidates interested in 48 hours per week should have this noted in the submission.

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum 2 years of staff ICU experience, excluding travel assignments.
Level I trauma center experience preferred.
Must have cardiac experience, as well as Surgical and Neuro ICU experience.
Must be comfortable and competent caring for ICU patients in the following environments:
- Surgical/Trauma/Neuroscience ICU (SICU/NSICU)
- Medical ICU (MICU)
- Cardiology ICU (CCU)
- CVICU (CPS/VICU)
- Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCCU)
- ICU/PCC patients in the ED and PACU awaiting bed placement
Experience floating to a variety of ICUs is highly desired.
Epic experience REQUIRED.
Must provide a reference from a supervisor from a previous staff RN position.
Must have advanced skills to manage complex patients and specialized ICU equipment.

Education:

AS/BS degree in Nursing.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

CRN strongly encouraged.
Required state licensure: NY License and BLS, ACLS needed

Unit Information:

Unit Name: Critical Care Float Pool
Total Beds: 100 beds across 5 units

ICU Units and Equipment:

Surgical/Trauma/Neuroscience ICU (B2): CRRT, intracranial pressure catheters, EVD, spinal drains, brain oxygen monitoring, Arctic Sun, continuous EEG, non-invasive cardiac output monitoring, and ventilators.
Medical ICU (MICU): CRRT and Arctic Sun.
Cardiology ICU (CCU): IABP, Impella, CRRT, PA catheters, Arctic Sun, Thermoguard, and transvenous pacers.
CVICU (CPS/VICU): CRRT, IABP, Impella, CentriMag/ECMO, HM2, and HM3.
Progressive Critical Care Unit (D3N): EVD, arterial lines, central lines, and EKOS.

Patient Population:

SICU/NSICU: Postoperative surgery, trauma, and neurologically impaired patients.
MICU: Patients with complex medical diagnoses requiring ICU care.
CCU: Patients with STEMI, NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, high-risk PCI, and post-cardiac-arrest Cliented temperature management.
CPS/VICU: Immediate postoperative care of cardiac and vascular surgery patients, including ECMO patients.
D3N: Medical and surgical patients requiring intermediate-level care in a step-down and step-up model.

Additional Information:

All ICUs are staffed by RNs, PCAs, and ASAs.
Unit guidelines and policies will be presented during unit orientation.
Albany Medical Center is an academic medical center and a Level I trauma center for both pediatric and adult patients.
