Bassett Healthcare Network , a progressive, academic health system in central New York, a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University, is seeking a Physician Assistant for our Division of General Surgery to join our staff at our Cooperstown, NY location.

Job Description  & Responsibilities

1. Join an established General Surgery group of 10 Surgeons and 6 Advanced Practice Clinicians
2. This individual will fill an integral role with the operative team as first assistant to oncologic surgeons, including robotic surgeons. 
3. Responsibilities may also include clinic and hospital coverage (rounding, admitting and consulting) as needed.
4. Previous surgical experience preferred. However, new grads are encouraged to apply
5. Salary Range: $135,000 - $155,000 plus performance-based compensation. This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good faith belief in the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. 
6. Call coverage is optional with an additional stipend - $20K per year.
7. Sign-on Bonus up to $50K

Job Qualifications

1. National Certification as a Physician Assistant - NCCPA
2. NYS Licensure
3. BLS Certification
4. DEA Required
