Student Welfare Officer and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)

Role Overview Valley Academy is looking to appoint a Student Welfare Officer and Deputy DSL on a permanent, full‑time basis at our Bradford academy. The role starts September 2026. Salary Grade G, Points 20 to 24 (£32,597 to £35,412 full‑time equivalent). Minimum pro‑rata salary per annum starts at £28,413.44, with 39 annual weeks (term time only plus 5 days) and 37 hours basis full time. Responsibilities Assist in tackling underachievement by working in partnership with families, parents/carers, students and external agencies to enable disadvantaged students to access educational opportunities and overcome barriers to learning. Work directly with families in a non‑judgemental way to empower them to get the most out of available educational opportunities. Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in the academy in the role of Deputy DSL.
