Policy Service Specialist

As a Policy Service Specialist your focus will be communicating with Homesteaders policy owners, agents and funeral home personnel on a variety of issues from routine to very complex. Issuing New Business, Processing Policy changes, Early Pay-ups, Reinstatements and Death Claims are just a part of this role. Cross-training and a dedication to Texas funeral contract compliance will ensure you are never bored!

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviews and processes policy change requests including plan/benefit reissues, early pay-ups, nonforfeiture processing and reinstatements; determines requirements for changes.
• Receives Texas new business applications, preneed contracts and related forms from New Business team.
• Reviews and processes all Texas claims using automated claim system; determines requirements and amount payable; reconciles accounting to ensure proper disbursement to payee.
• Reviews accounting history files to conduct audits of premium payments and miscellaneous accounting that is questioned.
• Performs record-keeping requirements and controls for weekly production status reports.
• Maintains current price lists for all active funeral homes in Texas as required to facilitate preneed to at-need claim reconciliation process and issuing Texas new business

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in the insurance industry - Policy Administration, New Business/Underwriting or Claims. Emphasis on Texas compliance in any of these areas is a plus.
• Ability to apply a comprehensive understanding of policy provisions and values as well as preneed funeral contracts to solve work related problems.
• Ability to apply a comprehensive understanding of Texas funeral contract compliance as regulated by the Texas Department of Banking.
• Ability to carry out oral and written instructions with strong aptitude for attention to details.
• Excellent organization skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at any given time.

$47,000+
