Operations Specialist (Day Shift)

Merck seeks an Operations Specialist to monitor global security and safety threats, manage travel risks, and coordinate emergency responses within a 24/7 resiliency center. The role requires continuous situational awareness and serves as a central communications hub during critical incidents.

Responsibilities

• Monitor global events continuously for emerging threats and assess impact on company operations
• Support travel risk management by tracking employee movements and providing assistance
• Operate emergency notification systems to distribute security alerts and critical communications
• Initiate incident response procedures and maintain situational awareness during critical events
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners including law enforcement and emergency services

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years in global security operations center, emergency dispatch, or similar 24/7 command center environment
• Experience with mass communication, threat intelligence, and travel tracking platforms
• Strong situational awareness, critical thinking, and sound judgment under pressure
• Excellent analytical and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced security operations
• High attention to detail and discretion with sensitive information

Compensation: $96,200-$151,400 base
