Health Information Specialist I Location: 6931 Hilton Head, SC Employment Type: Full-time regular Job Summary: This entry-level position is responsible for processing all Release of Information (ROI) requests, including medical record requests, in a timely and efficient manner while ensuring accuracy and providing high-quality customer service. Associates must safeguard patient privacy, ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, and maintain strict confidentiality. Position Highlights Onsite role in Hilton Head, SC Full time: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Eastern Time Supported with company equipment (computer, monitor, virtual phone) Responsibilities Receive and process requests for patient health information according to company policies. Maintain confidentiality and security of all privileged information. Document and track requests in multiple platforms. Adhere to medical privacy regulations and HIPAA compliance. Prepare new patient charts and assemble complete record bundles. Create digital images of paperwork for electronic medical record storage. Respond to inbound and outbound calls and assist patient walk‑ins. Assist with administrative duties such as fax handling, mail opening, and data entry. Meet productivity expectations and report work volumes to the manager. Schedule pick‑ups as needed and perform other duties as assigned. Preferred Skills Knowledge of HIPAA and medical terminology. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) and billing systems. Experience working with subpoenas. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Basic computer proficiency and strong data entry skills. Professional verbal and written communication skills in English. Attention to detail and quality orientation.
