Senior Accounting Officer (Supervisor)

Job Description And Duties The Senior Accounting Officer (Supervisor) reports to the Accounting Administrator I and oversees professional, technical, and clerical accounting staff. Key duties include coordinating and supervising the maintenance and reporting of accounts receivable for the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) and Cal/OSHA Penalties. This position may also be used to fill future vacancies in accordance with CCR 249.3. 249.3 Responsibilities Under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator I, the incumbent is responsible for: Coordinating and supervising subordinate accounting staff. Maintaining accurate accounts receivable records for DOSH and Cal/OSHA Penalties. Ensuring compliance with CCR 249.3 for future vacancy planning. Working Conditions This role is located at 455 Golden Gate Ave, 10th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94102. The incumbent works 40 hours per week in a cubicle in an air‑conditioned office with elevator access, natural and artificial lighting, and prolonged use of a computer, calculator, and telephone. Travel may be required for meetings and training. Partial telework is available with Department approval per Governor’s Mandate. Qualifications Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification(s) and be able to demonstrate proficiency in accounting and financial reporting. New State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary for the classification or alternate range. Education obtained outside the United States must be evaluated by a credentials evaluation service. Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees may be subject to a salary reduction of 2% – 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month.
