WE ARE SEEKING AN EXPERIENCED GENERAL MANAGER FOR AN IHG SELECT SERVICE BRAND IN THE DENVER TECH CENTER. SUMMARY: The General Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of the hotel to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits. The hotel general manager plays a pivotal role in guest satisfaction by ensuring high standards of service, addressing guest and associate concerns promptly, and constantly seeking ways to enhance their experience. This role involves overseeing all departments to ensure they work in harmony and productively. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares and presents annual budget for upcoming year Leads the creation of annual marketing plan to maximize share and rate in upcoming year Accountable for achieving house profit, budgeted RevPAR, and Occ Index Manages to or exceeding brand standards Ensures the safety of all present on property and works to limit liability for all hotel activities Knowledgeable of local, state and federal laws including but not limited to Innkeeper Law, employment law, and OSHA regulations. Plans, develops and implements organization policies and goals Coordinates activities of departments within the hotel to ensure operational efficiency Directs and coordinates promotion of hotel services to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry Analyzes department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made and allocates operating budget Confers with administrative personnel and reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations required Directs preparation of directives to Regional Director of Operations outlining policies, programs, or operational changes that need to be implemented Promotes hotel within local associations Performs other related duties as assigned by management SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises employees within the department(s) Indirectly supervises employees within the department(s) Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems Qualifications: Willingness and desire to create a team learning environment and to foster a positive, fulfilling work environment Demonstrated ability to balance department efficiency and service excellence Willingness to assist employees in order to achieve departmental goals Demonstrated strengths in teambuilding and leadership skills Supervisory experience or demonstrated willingness, desire, and ability to supervise with aptitude for coaching, mentoring, training, and developing employee performance Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate employees with confidence in work processes and goals Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills; ability to interact positively with employees at various levels across the company and guests Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional groups Ability to work independently, prioritize workload and deliver quality results on time while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
