Requirements High school diploma or GED required Minimum of 2 years of municipal combination inspection experience involving residential, commercial, or industrial properties Valid California Class C Driver's License (or ability to obtain) International Code Council (ICC) Building Inspector Certification required ICC Combination Dwelling Inspector Certificate or equivalent certifications in plumbing, mechanical, and electrical inspection required Thorough knowledge of building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, zoning, and health codes Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities Proficiency with computers and applicable software programs Ability to work in both office and field environments, including active construction sites Job Duties Inspect residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects for compliance with building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical codes Conduct inspections throughout all phases of construction, from excavation through final completion Inspect foundations, framing, concrete, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and structural components Verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, permits, and applicable regulations Inspect swimming pools, structural installations, and electrical bonding requirements Investigate complaints and inspect existing structures for hazardous or illegal conditions Issue correction notices, stop-work orders, and written inspection reports as needed Assist contractors, property owners, and the public by providing guidance on code requirements and permitting Verify contractor licensing and permit compliance on job sites Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation Perform additional duties as assigned Benefits Competitive weekly pay Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance included Employee discounts Growth opportunities The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role.
