MRI Technologist

Position Overview The MR Radiologic Technologist provides technical knowledge and/or coordinates the delivery of MRI services. Under the direction of a qualified physician, this position will operate a variety of equipment including high field strength magnets and support systems with MRI safety as a priority. This position will cover and float to all UCSF MR sites (China Basin, Mission Bay, Parnassus, Mount Zion, Peninsula OP center in Burlingame, CA). The MR Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for patient coordination, acquisition, processing, and archiving of all patient data. The incumbent will maintain and operate equipment according to manufacturer specifications, report all problems appropriately, and train new staff as well as existing staff on new technologies. The MR Radiologic Technologist is an ARRT licensed technologist who maintains an ARRT sponsored MRI certification. The technologist must comply with department protocols, UCSF policies, radiology department policies, and all applicable work rules and regulations. The incumbent works independently and under general supervision, acts with initiative and responsibility to achieve maximum radiographic quality, and maintains a calm demeanor even during stressful situations. Qualifications ARRT approved MRI Certification BLS Certification Venipuncture Certification Graduate of a formal radiology technology training program in an AMA approved school Flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate shifts and cover weekends and holidays Flexibility to rotate to other sites when necessary Ability to perform all of the following imaging studies: Neuro Studies MSK Studies Abdominal Imaging Pediatric Imaging Chest Imaging (Non Cardiac) Salary Information The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range depends on work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
