This role involves assigning, directing, and supervising resident care. The nurse addresses resident needs and concerns as they arise and documents the events in the resident's chart. Medications and treatments are administered as ordered by physicians. Any changes observed in residents or personnel must be reported to the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, and/or Resident Care Coordinator. Keeping physicians and families informed about residents' status is required as needed. Promoting teamwork between staff members and other departments is essential. All required documentation must be completed accurately and promptly. The nurse may work all shifts or serve as a Treatment Nurse as necessary. When both an LPN and an RN work the same shift, the RN will assume the role of Charge Nurse, and the LPN will report to the RN. Attendance at meetings and educational sessions is expected as directed. The nurse must perform all other assigned duties. This position oversees CNAs and ensures tasks are completed regarding resident care. Documenting nurses' notes for acute illness, doctor visits, and when residents go out on pass and return is necessary. It is important to notify the MDPOA in a timely manner with updates, changes, or new orders. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
