Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Overview New Directions Education is recruiting for a pool of Higher Level Teaching Assistants to work within Mainstream Resource Provision settings across Bradford. This role involves daily/long-term cover as HLTA for learners seeking targeted support in the classroom and outdoor learning environments. Responsibilities Support the planning, delivery, and assessment of learning activities for pupils with SEN, adapting materials and strategies as needed. Work alongside class teachers to deliver differentiated learning and ensure all pupils can access the curriculum. Deliver small group interventions under the direction of SENCOs and phase leaders. Support the development of EHCP outcomes and contribute to reviews and meetings. Supervise whole classes occasionally during short-term absences of the class teacher. Provide guidance and support to other teaching assistants across the setting. Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting and assessment processes. Qualifications/Requirements Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and therapeutic behaviour support. Trained in Team-Teach or other behaviour intervention methods. Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience. Strong communication skills. Notes Working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant can be rewarding but demanding, involving collaboration with teaching staff, SENCOs and external agencies to support pupils with a range of needs, including medical needs, ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
