Travel - Certified Surgical Technologist

Minidoka Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Certified Scrub Tech / Surgical Technologist to support the Surgical Services department. The Surgical Technologist will prepare patients, operating rooms, instruments, and equipment while providing direct sterile support to surgeons and the operating room team.

• Prepare patients, operating rooms, instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Clean, sterilize, and assemble surgical instruments, trays, packs, and equipment.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies for the surgical department.
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field throughout procedures.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs and provide sterile instruments and supplies.
• Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Ensure compliance with aseptic technique and applicable OR standards.
• Safely operate steam and Steris sterilizers.
• Assist with orientation and training of new personnel.
• Maintain and update surgical procedure cards and related resources.
• Assist nurses with patient recovery when needed.
• Support physicians during procedures and assist in other hospital areas as required.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and department initiatives.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Certificate in Surgical Technology
• Previous experience as a Scrub Tech / Surgical Technologist
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Completion of 12 hours of Sterile Processing (SPD) training through webinars, podcasts, formal classes, or online study.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology

The position requires the ability to:

• Lift and move supplies and equipment.
• Reposition and assist with moving patients.
• Push patient beds throughout the hospital.
• Perform external cardiac compressions when required.
• Frequently bend, stoop, lift, pull, and twist.
• Maneuver through hallways, stairways, and patient rooms during emergencies.
• Occasionally lift 100 pounds or more as required by the role.

This is a 13-week assignment with 4 10-hour day shifts and on-call responsibilities, starting in November 2026.
