Substitute Teacher

Title: Substitute Teacher Reports to: Principal or Designee Locations: District-wide availability, may select preferences on grade levels/buildings Job Summary: Provides instruction in the curricular areas and behavioral skills to students in PreK through 12th grade during teacher's absence Job Responsibilities In the teacher's absence, follow the lesson plans provided to ensure programming associated with core curriculum and behavioral skills Follow behavior management plans for students Assist and collaborate with the administration, school counselor, staff, parents and students on matters pertaining to academic achievement and social/emotional/behavioral goals Maintain appropriate records and protect the confidentiality of data Report to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis Other duties as assigned Qualifications Appropriate State of Iowa Licensure including Substitute Authorization Certificate Experience in classroom teaching PreK to 12th grade preferred Initiative to be a self-starter Intuitive to the needs of students Flexibility in assignment given Ability to use good judgment Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
