CDL - Class B Driver

The Local CDL Driver is responsible for the safe driving and delivery of customer materials within a 100‑mile radius from the assigned facility. Duties include driving the company truck to deliver orders, loading and unloading materials, and performing other duties assigned in the facility or warehouse. Key Responsibilities Drive a 24' Class B straight truck with flat bed (automatic). Deliver orders/materials/product to customers, both internal and external, while following DOT and internal safety rules. Load and unload the company truck and secure loads. Maneuver heavy materials with forklift, pallet jack, and/or hand truck. Assist in the warehouse as needed. Comply with company and DOT policies and procedures, with special attention to safety regulations. Complete pre‑trip inspections, maintain a legal and accurate logbook, retain fuel and toll receipts, keep the truck cab clean, document and log work/rest periods, and complete post‑trip inspections. Check gauges and visual indicators for malfunctions, ensure locks on trailers are working properly, and conduct inspections before and during trips to identify problems and report them promptly. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Valid commercial motor vehicle operator’s license issued by one state or jurisdiction. A Class B Commercial Driver’s License (operating a CMV with a gross combination weight rating of 26,001 or more pounds and towing a trailer of 10,001 pounds or more). Not disqualified to drive under 49 CFR 391.15. Ability to speak and read English, converse with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on reports and records. Drive the vehicle safely. Currently hold or can obtain a non‑exempt interstate DOT medical card. Pass a driver’s road test or equivalent. Comfortable with making local deliveries with multiple stops. No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years. No serious traffic violations in the last three (3) years. No preventable accidents while operating a CMV in the last three (3) years. No preventable DOT recordable accidents in the last five (5) years. No preventable fatality or catastrophic injury in driving history. No positive or refused drug/alcohol test in the previous five (5) years and completion of a DOT‑recognized Substance Abuse Program with required follow‑up testing. Live within 60 miles of the assigned facility or willing to establish residence within that radius within 90 days. Ability to operate a forklift. Additional traffic violations status: Speeding 15 mph or more over the limit. Reckless driving. Improper or erratic lane change. Following too closely. Driving without a CDL or proper license/endorsements. Texting or using a hand‑held mobile device while driving a CMV. Violating state or local motor vehicle laws related to fatal accidents. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 12 months verifiable experience in a full‑time tractor/trailer driving position in the last three (3) years *or* two (2) years of documented experience in the last five (5) years. Must be at least 23 years of age. Working Conditions Monday – Friday, 1st shift. Spends most (90%) of time outside the facility. Personal protective equipment regularly required (steel or composite toe boots, safety glasses, cut‑resistant gloves, arm guards).
