Who We Are Unity Care NW (UCNW) is a private, non‑profit, Federally Qualified Health Center dedicated to serving Whatcom County, Washington. Established in 1982, UCNW operates clinics in Bellingham and Ferndale, offering comprehensive primary medical, behavioral health, dental, and pharmacy services to a community of more than 300 employees. Job Summary Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer provides strategic leadership to advance the health center’s whole‑person primary care services, including medical, dental, behavioral health and pharmacy. The CEO drives long‑term strategy, financial stability, regulatory compliance, and innovation, while cultivating high‑performing teams. The CEO serves as the public face of UCNW, building trusted relationships with community partners, policymakers, funders, and healthcare collaborators at local, state, and national levels. Responsibilities Lead the organization’s strategic direction and long‑term sustainability. Ensure financial stewardship, including budget oversight and revenue cycle management. Maintain compliance with all healthcare regulatory requirements. Champion community‑based care delivery and innovation across all service lines. Represent UCNW at public forums, with policymakers, funders, and partner organizations. Minimum Qualifications Advanced degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Minimum 5 years of progressive senior management experience in a healthcare setting. Experience leading large‑scale organizations, articulating a strategic vision, empowering teams, and executing implementation plans. Strong financial management and budget oversight experience. Knowledge of healthcare regulatory compliance requirements. Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Leadership experience in a community health center setting (integrated medical, dental, behavioral health). Experience with HRSA Section 330 grants and other public funding streams. Experience launching or expanding healthcare programs or service lines. Active involvement in healthcare policy, advocacy, or community health organizations. Eligible for Sign‑On/Relocation Bonus (subject to payback clause).
