Registered Nurse - Cardiac Specialty Unit

Dept: Cardiac Specialty Unit Hours per pay period: 72 HOURS

Schedule: 7P-730A

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assess the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs of the patient.
• Plan and implement nursing care according to patient and family needs.
• Make appropriate interventions based upon individual patient needs.
• Evaluate patient responses to nursing interventions.
• Assume personal responsibility for quality patient care, patient satisfaction, environment and professional development.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Perform other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Graduate of a Nursing program.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent, is required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date
• ACLS required by end of unit orientation for CCL, PACU, ENDO, IR, ICU, ED, CDU, CSU, Ambulatory Surgery, and the Step-Down Unit
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required by end of unit orientation for PEDS

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Wound Care Certification (WCC/ WOCN /CWCA) if working in Wound Care Center- preferred Wound Care Certification MUST BE OBTAINED WITHIN 12 MOS OF HIRE DATE.
• One year related specialty care experience preferred for Cardiac Cath Lab, OR/PASS (Post Anesthesia Care Unit), IR (Interventional Radiology), ICU, Endo or Ambulatory Surgery.

Weekend/Holiday Requirements:

Selected candidate will be required to work weekends 1 and 3 of the 28-day schedule, as well as the Holiday B rotation
