This role includes sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing inventory levels to align with production schedules and company requirements. The Purchasing Specialist works closely with cross-functional teams such as Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, and Production Control to ensure efficient supply chain operations and support organizational goals.Essential Job Duties:Initiates purchase orders for materials, services, and special tools.Maintains close coordination with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities.Secures and analyzes quotations and negotiates pricing and terms with suppliers.Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities.Follows department processes to monitor and develop suppliers.Visits current and potential suppliers' facilities to qualify them as sources.Participates in projects and continuous improvement processes.Executes cost savings initiatives to meet annual cost savings goals.Completes special projects, assignments, and other duties as assigned.Education & Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related field preferred2-4 years of related experience preferred.Required Qualifications:Excellent organizational skills.Excellent presentation, written, and oral communication skills.Superior analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities.Strong negotiating skills.Ability to comprehend and use advanced inventory planning tools.Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.Strong time management skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Self-starter with the ability to work independently.Detail-oriented.Ability to meet timelines and prioritize work requirements.Physical Requirements: Individuals must be able to meet these physical requirements or be able to demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.Must be able to read and write reports, memos, and other miscellaneous written correspondence and view computer screen.Must be able to communicate verbally with callers, visitors and co-workers.Must be able to sit continuously.Must be able to finger, grasp and feel continuously.Must be able to stoop and bend occasionally.Must be able to walk and stand occasionally.Working Conditions: Typical office working conditions.
