Support the build, test, troubleshooting, and deployment of sensing systems from prototype assembly through on-water field operations. As part of a fast-growing team, you'll help establish processes, documentation, and testing standards while working independently across the hardware lifecycle. Hourly position with overtime opportunities during peak testing periods. Key Responsibilities:

- Build, troubleshoot, and deploy buoy systems independently from prototype assembly through field operations.
- Organize and manage the test area, including tool inventory, equipment storage, and workspace standards.
- Coordinate and support test outings, including on-water deployment procedures.
- Follow engineering procedures for assembly, testing, and field operations while creating SOPs for recurring test activities.
- Support expanded testing operations with up to 25% travel to field sites.
- Perform mechanical and electrical assembly, soldering, wiring, connector work, and checkout testing to verify functionality.
- Demonstrate ownership and initiative; proactively solves problems and closes gaps.
- Comfortable working autonomously in a startup environment with evolving processes.
- Hands-on experience with soldering, wiring, connector work, and electrical assembly.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to diagnosing issues.
- Excellent documentation habits and ability to create repeatable processes.
- Strong organization, time management, and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Interest in learning across prototype assembly, electrical integration, field testing, and marine operations.
- Marine or boating experience.
- Hardware startup or prototyping environment.
- Manufacturing, test engineering, or electromechanical field operations.
- Must be comfortable working from a boat on the ocean for a few hours every week. Must be comfortable standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in laboratory and outdoor field environments.
