Job DescriptionJob Summary:Mercury Systems is seeking a Test Engineer III to lead test efforts in our data processing and avionics systems for mission critical aerospace and defense applications. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring product reliability, performance, and security across the full engineering lifecycle from concept to sustainment. Job Responsibilities:Ensuring test systems comply with quality requirements, reliability, and regulatory complianceWork with cross-functional development teams to ensure that products are designed to facilitate testability including qualification, verification and validation requirementsDevelop, specify and/or procure test equipment that meets quality objectives, design margins and the needs of manufacturingDevelop and write test documentation such as compliance matrices; Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), Qualification Test Procedures (QTP), and Functional Test Procedures (FTP) using test standards such as MIL-STD-810G & H, MIL-STD-704A, and MIL-STD-461F & GOversee and conduct functional, environmental, stress, and security testing of hardware and software systems, ensuring performance in extreme conditions and mission-critical environments.Work independently under minimal supervision and guidance to perform tasks of substantial complexity and conduct testing activities on site and at testing contract facilitiesProduce test reports, presentation, and CDRL’s for contractual deliverablesTrain/cross-train test and troubleshooting techniques with Production test teamTroubleshoot systems and circuit card assemblies using relevant electrical, mechanical, and analytical tools to identify root cause and resolve technical issues.Lead the troubleshooting activities, Investigate the cause of the failures and fix the defect at top level assembly, sub-level assembly, PCBA board level, components, and or test equipmentCollaborate with Mission Assurance teams to conduct root cause analyses for issues identified during testing and sustainment.Required Qualifications:Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, manufacturing engineering or equivalent experienceTypically requires 4+ years of experience testing electrical hardware or other military based systemsExperience with mixed-signal Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) and system validation test development Experience in developing and executing verification and validation test procedures.Experience testing ruggedized servers for harsh environments (e.g., extreme temperatures, shock, vibration).Ability to read and understand circuit and wiring diagrams, technical specifications and electronics test proceduresGood understanding of manufacturing processes with the ability to work on multiple projects in a highly demanding environmentExperience understanding system and subsystem requirements & specification generation processesKnowledge of a wide variety of electronics test and analyzing equipment including oscilloscopes, analyzers, power supplies, meters and any other special electronics test equipment necessary for testing, analyzing and/or troubleshooting/repairingExperience understanding engineering principles and demonstrated application of those concepts with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.Experience in LabVIEW, Python, Bash, C#,C++, MATLAB, or other programming languages used for data collection and analysis.This role is 100% on-site and based in Torrance, CA.Preferred Qualifications:Active U.S. Secret Clearance.Experience with military standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-1275.Experience with Aerospace, Defense, Government, or Military sectors.Skilled in documentation and collaboration platforms, including Confluence and SharePoint.Experience with engineering lifecycle tools such as Jama, Jira, BitBucket.Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to guide Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) through ambiguity and tight deadlines.Experience supporting both military and commercial programs.Working knowledge of military and aerospace standards including MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, DO-178C, and DO-254.Hands on experience with environmental test equipment, including chambers used for hardware validation.#LI-RL1This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance.
