5-Axis MachinistOur client, located in Carteret, NJ, is seeking a skilled and experienced 5-Axis Machinist to join their precision manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of multi-axis machining processes, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating 5-axis CNC machines to produce high-quality components in accordance with technical drawings and specifications.Key Responsibilities:Program, set up, and operate 5-axis CNC machines to produce precision components.Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) symbols.Develop and edit CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, or equivalent).Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machinery.Inspect finished components to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMMs).Optimize machining processes for efficiency and productivity while maintaining product quality.Monitor and manage tool wear and make necessary adjustments to ensure accurate machining.Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other machinists to resolve technical issues and improve processes.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company safety protocols.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or an associate's degree in machining, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.Minimum 5 years of experience as a CNC machinist, with at least 2 years specializing in 5-axis machining.Proficiency in programming and operating 5-axis CNC machines (e.g., Haas, Mazak, DMG MORI, etc.).Strong understanding of CAD/CAM software and CNC programming.Knowledge of material properties and machining techniques for wood a plus.Familiarity with precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining and programming issues effectively.Strong mathematical and analytical skills.Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.Standing, bending, and operating machinery for extended periods.Comfortable working in a noisy and high-precision environment.The compensation for this position ranges from $80,000.00 - $100,000.00. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual's qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.
