Job Title

Registered Nurse – Surgical PCU / Stepdown (IMC/PCU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Rotating Weekends | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed Surgical PCU unit with patient ratios of 1:4, occasionally 1:5
• Manage and monitor patients post-procedure including airways (tracheostomy, laryngectomy), bowel surgeries, pulmonary procedures, mastectomies, and thyroidectomies
• Perform routine care for JP drains, biliary drains, abdominal and chest tube drains, TPN, tube feeds, and telemetry monitoring
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during daily multidisciplinary rounds and maintain thorough admission and shift documentation compliance
• Adhere to infection prevention protocols including C. diff, CAUTI, CLABSI, and SSI standards
• Float as needed to MedSurg, MedSurg PCU, and ED holds

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS / ALS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR
• Strong time management and critical thinking skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior PCU or stepdown unit experience
• Tracheostomy care experience
• Familiarity with colorectal care order sets and pre/post-op checklists
• Team-oriented, positive attitude, and adaptable to a fast-paced surgical environment
