ssistant General Manager (AGM) – Confidential Restaurant Opportunity

Location: Chicago & Surrounding Suburbs
Compensation: $70,000–$80,000 + Bonus Potential + Benefits

A successful and growing restaurant concept is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join its leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate restaurant leader who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and enjoys building teams, driving service standards, and creating exceptional dining experiences.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on restaurant operator who can support the General Manager in all aspects of daily operations, lead front-of-house execution, develop team members, and help drive overall restaurant success.

Responsibilities

Support the General Manager with daily restaurant operations and service execution
Lead, coach, and develop front-of-house team members to deliver outstanding hospitality
Maintain a strong presence on the floor and ensure a consistent guest experience
Assist with scheduling, labor management, and operational planning
Support hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing team development
Monitor guest satisfaction and proactively address service opportunities
Assist with inventory management, cost controls, and financial goals
Partner with restaurant leadership to improve sales, profitability, and operational execution
Ensure compliance with company standards, safety guidelines, and service expectations
Lead by example during high-volume service periods

Qualifications

Previous Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, or similar leadership experience
Strong background in full-service, upscale casual, or high-volume restaurant operations
Bar/lounge experience is a plus
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop restaurant teams
Strong understanding of restaurant operations, labor management, and financial performance
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus

They are a strong communicator, take ownership, and understand that great restaurants are built through engaged teams and exceptional hospitality.
