The position is responsible for ensuring that reentry programs and services are effectively coordinated, appropriately staffed, properly implemented, and delivered with fidelity. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.Job SpecificationThe official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties and Other InformationReviewing reports and program data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established requirements.Conducting scheduled and unscheduled audits and monitoring of Transition Specialist programs, assessments, and training to ensure services are delivered with fidelity.Assisting with the development, revision, and implementation of rules, regulations, procedures, and processes supporting a continuum of reentry and transitional services.Developing and maintaining partnerships with outside agencies, organizations, community groups, and individuals to expand resources and services available to offenders.Identifying staff training and development needs and ensuring appropriate training is provided.Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEECurrent permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment.
