Business Clerk - IDEA Tarrant County (Immediate Opening)

Role Mission Business Clerks serve as finance liaisons between the Business Office and campus staff, supporting district finance projects, budgeting, contracts, requisitions, inventory, fundraising, and field lesson coordination. Location & Travel Full‑time, in‑person position at an IDEA campus, reporting daily to the campus IDEA manager. Limited travel to the Regional Office or a neighboring campus for department trainings; mandatory out‑of‑region summer training. Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate $18.86 – $23.57, based on experience. Eligible for a performance bonus tied to team performance. Responsibilities Provide and maintain financial expertise to support campus operations 100% of time. Execute campus financial systems and procedures to meet budget targets, procurement timelines, and compliance. Support campus administrative and instructional staff with financial policies. Prepare and submit contracts, requisitions, approvals, and budget presentations. Maintain accurate financial records, inventory, and cash handling procedures. Coordinate fundraising events and sponsor approvals. Assist in securing field‑lesson transportation and charter bus quotes. Participate in campus operating mechanisms and communicate updates. Provide solutions during emergencies following IDEA Business Office policies. Required Experience High‑school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred. At least 2 years in a school system or nonprofit managing cross‑functional projects and finances. Experience in a fast‑paced, results‑oriented environment. Expectations Respond to emails and Teams messages within 48 hours. Submit all forms accurately and on time. Provide ongoing campus support to staff and students. Standard work schedule Monday‑Friday 8 AM‑5 PM; schedule may vary per campus. Participate in campus operating mechanisms (check‑ins, tactical meetings, EOD updates). Adhere to IDEA Business Office policies during emergencies. Non‑Negotiables Escalate matters to the Regional Manager; further escalation to Assistant Director or Director. Must be included in procurement, fundraising, and field‑lesson decisions. Submit contract requests via Contracts Module with required documentation. Support charter bus quotes and compliance reporting. Ensure cash handling compliance and deposit preparation. Maintain a visible workspace with sufficient desk space and access to storage closets. Allocate time for inventory audits bi‑monthly and campus safe audits. Must be available for all Business Office duties and emergencies; no overtime for non‑core work. Knowledge & Skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Deep knowledge of educational processes and data translation. Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Proficiency with financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
