About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum of 2 years required; preferred 3 years in a high volume setting. License: NC or Compact license pending OK for submission. Certifications: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP. Will accept C-EFM in lieu of AWHONN. Must-Have: Experience with over 300 births per month. Circulate experience in operating room. Competency in performing sterile vaginal exams. Competent in immediate newborn care. Ability to manage multiple labor assignments. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly turn into a cancellation. This unit is fast-paced and can be challenging. Double labor assignments are a daily occurrence. The patient ratio is 2:1, averaging 20 births in 24 hours, with 30-40 admits and 40 visits per day. The unit will accept contracts from 13 to 26 weeks. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend, totaling a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Patients include obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for all intrapartum and for high-risk antepartum and postpartum care. The birthing care unit also manages high-risk patients under 16 weeks. Special procedures performed include scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and rescue cervical cerclage. The unit is very busy and has a higher acuity than might normally be expected. Strongly prefer RNs with experience circulating in the operating room. Candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility as needed.
