Your primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient coordination of pathology services, maintain accurate records, and facilitate communication between healthcare professionals and patients. Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a healthcare setting are essential for success in this role.Pay range: $20-23/hr, depending upon experienceResponsibilitiesAwareness of key clients and their issuesEnter patient demographics into computerEnter pathologist dictation into computerGenerate and organize pathology reports to be delivered to clientsDocument and fax melanoma cases to appropriate locations using proper procedureFile slides and tissue blocks in proper locationMaintain a neat and orderly work areaEnter billing codes and prepare log sheet for billingDocument and mail slide/block requests for consultationFollow proper protocol to send and receive consult casesSort reports and distribute to clientsDisplay proficiency in retrieving prior/archived pathology reportsEmail the Marketing team the log on a monthly basisAdd new locations and physicians to IPSend out monthly self-pay/discount audit MCBSSend out monthly missing accession numbers re-released to MCBSTest interfaces with clientsFill out supply ordersBack up to the front desk as neededOther duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.QualificationsKnowledge of and compliance with HIPAA standardsKnowledge of and compliance with OSHA Standard PrecautionsKnowledge of and compliance with Chemical Hygiene PracticesAbility to type accurately and efficientlyLicensure/Certifications/EducationEducation and Experience:High school diploma requiredKnowledge of medical terminology a plusTwo or more years of typing at least 40 WPM.High school diploma or equivalent required.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
