Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
The CVICU RN is responsible for providing specialized critical care to patients recovering from cardiac surgery and other cardiovascular conditions. This role requires advanced skills in cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic management, and postoperative patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patients' hemodynamic status, including pressure monitoring and Swan-Ganz management.
• Manage and care for patients with open-heart procedures, ensuring stability during postoperative recovery.
• Administer and titrate medications, including Impella support, CRRT, and other cardiac therapies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient progress and interventions accurately in the Cerner EMR system.
• Respond promptly to emergent situations, utilizing ACLS protocols and advanced cardiac life support skills.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active LV or Compact RN license, with a minimum of 2 years RN experience in cardiac or CVICU settings.
• Demonstrate expertise in direct open-heart admissions from OR, pressure monitoring, and Swan-Ganz management.
• Possess current ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association.
• Have travel experience (preferred but not required) and be able to pass Tier2 travel compliance requirements.
• Be able to provide at least two recent manager/charge nurse references and verify license and certifications promptly.
