Yes, as long as they meet above criteriaPatient Types/Common Diagnoses:o Cardiac: Immediate post-op CABG, TAVR/TMVR, valve repairs/replacement, heart transplants, Pacemakers (epicardial, transvenous)o Thoracic surgeries: Fresh post op esophagectomy, pneumonectomy, lobectomyo Vascular: Fresh post-op AAA, TVAR, carotid endarterectomyPatient Ratios:o RN: 1:1, 1:2 if regular ICU status, 1:3 mixed statuso Tech: 1:8-10Required License, National Certification, Certs:o BLS, ACLSo CCRN preferredSkills required:o Competent in invasive line monitoring (Swan Ganz, a-lines), pacemakers (epicardial, TV), chest tubes, cardiac medications (inotropes, vasopressors, sedation/paralytics), ventilator/trach management, cardiac rhythm interpretationo RN draw out of invasive lines; not allowed to do peripheral stickso EPIC experienceo Prefer travelers with specific CV surgical experience (ECMO, CVVH, IABP, VAD)Support within the Department:o Charge nurse, rarely with patient assignmento HUC 24/7o Dedicated CVICU Intensivist 24/7o CT Surgeon on call 24/7o Hospitalist onsite 24/7o General Intensivist 24/7o ICU Designated RT 24/7o Bedside/nurses station telemetry monitoring, no tele techo Phlebotomy to assist with peripheral blood drawsTechnology/Equipment:o EMR: EPICo IV Pump: Alariso Med dispensing: Pyxiso Monitors: GEUnit specific equipment:Floating: If yes, where?o ED Holding (board patients waiting for an inpatient bed)o Other ICU's (MRICU, SICU, CICU, Neuro ICU)o MSU (Ratio-1:3)o Sittero PACU SurgeOrientation (facility and unit):o 1 day of orientation2-4h of NEO with supervisor/nurse educatorAfter NEO, will be placed on the unit with a preceptorScheduling:o Weekend rotation: Every othero On call? Noo Holiday Expectations: 1-2 per contracto Approval of RTO: ok to approve up to 7 dayso Shift times: 0700-1900 or 1900-0700o Schedule cycle: 6-week schedule.
