Field Service Technician

Join Our Team as a Field Service Technician At Epiroc USA LLC, our Parts and Services (PSD) Division provides a broad range of services with the aim of maximizing customers’ productivity. We focus on spare parts supply, professional service, support solutions and training. Field Service Technicians provide thorough service support for technical problems, monitoring, testing, and demonstrations that minimize downtime, reduce costs, or promote our product capabilities during tests or demos. This role requires specialized expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and installing parts to maintain equipment, with a sense of urgency while maintaining Epiroc’s high quality standards. Location Salt Lake City, Utah Type of Work Flexible shifts as per customer requirement. Must be available for night shifts when required. Working Hours Up to 84 hours a week. Shift timing varies to align with customer requirements. Complete daily work assignments as requested by the customer or supervisor. Use basic analytical skills to troubleshoot, identify problems, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems either by phone or on site. Apply the company’s warranty policy and process warranty claim reports in the field. Adhere to safety and environmental requirements, practice proper safety procedures, and use PPE. Maintain courteous and professional communication with customers and internal staff at all times. Level2 Provide warranty support; evaluate and validate claims, discuss issues with Product Company, and submit service reports to support claims. Communicate service activities to the customer and the Service Manager through daily reports, emails, and telephone communication. Support varied activities with simultaneous projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Level3 Use specialized expertise to develop customized solutions for customer issues. Rebuild complete components to OEM specifications in the service shop. Perform essential functions on various equipment types supporting all business line areas. Serve as a subject‑matter expert for other service technicians, supporting their training and development. Requirements Level1 Basic computer skills and familiarity with Epiroc equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude, good work ethic, and ability to read basic hydraulic and 24‑volt schematics. Own hand tools and capacity to expand personal tool inventory by purchasing additional tools as required. Complete TL1, TL2 training and Safe Start Modules1‑5 within the first year. Maintain required U.S. Department of Labor, Mine Safety & Health Administration training certificates or complete the training program as required. Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; for commercial vehicles weighing >26,001 lb must obtain a CDL and maintain an active license (drivers≥18 yr for intrastate,≥21 yr for interstate). Travel required. Level2 Minimum of a Certificate of Completion for a Technical or Trade School, or an equivalent of 2–5 years of relevant experience. Complete TL1 and TL2 within 3–6 months of hire. Level3 Minimum of a Certificate of Completion for a Technical or Trade School, or an equivalent of 5+ years of relevant experience. Expert at Rig Control Systems (RCS). Complete TL1 and TL2 training within one month of hire. Level determined based on relevant work experience, knowledge, skills, and ability to perform job essential functions.
