Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Registered Nurse serving students in a therapeutic school setting in Lake County. This full-time position spans 37.5 hours over five days per week, forming a vital part of the school community. You'll serve as the primary health office nurse, responding to students throughout the building while maintaining a dedicated homebase office. Some responsibilities also include supporting a student with diabetes and participating in IEP meetings to foster comprehensive care for each individual.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Illinois
• Pediatric and school nursing experience preferred, especially in therapeutic or specialized settings
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Flexibility to adapt to dynamic school environments and move quickly to where students need care
• Comfortable working independently and managing confidential information

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care to students, including those with chronic conditions such as diabetes
• Conduct health assessments and respond to in-school medical needs
• Serve as a resource for health education among staff and students
• Maintain accurate medical records and support documentation requirements
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings when needed
• Collaborate with educators, families, and external healthcare providers to support student health
