Special Education Teacher (half-day classroom teacher; half-day substitute teacher)

Job Description:

Successful candidate will be responsible for implementing lesson plans for students with developmental disabilities in accordance with NYSED Guidelines.

12 month position (school calendar plus 6 week summer session)

Hours: 8:00-4:00 Monday to Friday

12 month salary: Commensurate with Education and experience

• Bachelors: $57,500 - $59,000
• Masters: $60,000 - $63,000

The successful candidate will possess:

• NYSED certification: Students with Disabilities Birth - Grade 2, Students with Disabilities 1-6, or Students with Disabilities All Grades
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members
• Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis highly preferred
• Bi-lingual a plus
• Ability to implement differentiated instruction in accordance with NYSED standards
