RN PCU Days

Shift / Schedule Full Time, Days – 3/12 hour shifts, 6:45 am – 7:15 pm. Requirements Minimum 2.5 years Acute Care Hospital Experience Patient Population & Settings Progressive Care / Med Surg (Comprehensive Stroke, Sepsis, Vasoactive Drips). Patient ratio 1:4, 32 beds. Department Specifics 90% BSN, National Nursing Certification preferred but not required. ACLS required (may complete post‑hire). Multi‑Disciplinary rounds and Shared Governance are practiced. Job Summary As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Preventing complications, following the Texas Nursing Practice Act, and delegating tasks based on condition and team competencies. Essential Functions Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs; create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism in therapeutic connections. Create care plans that reflect values and resolve issues. Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members; assess and document learning needs. Collaborate with colleagues and community to create a care plan; delegate tasks and follow up promptly. Use problem‑solving strategies; prioritize safety, effectiveness and efficiency in care planning. Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions and commit to growth; contribute to peers’ development and community service. Key Success Factors Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures. Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards and guidelines. Proficiency in medical terms, disease prevention, management, common medications and side effects. Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights. Exceptional communication skills. Positive social skills for diverse interactions. Excellent problem‑solving capabilities.
