Field Engineer I

Field Engineering Responsibilities Close‑out: redlines, test audits, lessons learned, warranties, product submittals. Build‑out: verify measurements, equipment placements, grounding and bonding; finalize redlines. Fiber: use internal tracker to capture ISP changes; verify all fiber scope. Copper: use internal tracker to ensure pull‑sheets, tag plants, and fields are in print; redline and submit for review. Network: configure details and execute network redlines when required. RFI referencing/implementation: reference RFIs on redlines before QA review. Test audits: run audits, verify cable schedules, build projects, ensure 100% match between tests and prints, manage re‑tests. Lessons learned: update document throughout the build; finalize the standard template at project end. Warranties: collect information and send for processing. Product submittals: complete initial submittal after RFP issuance; verify BOM with POs and obtain product sheets. Labels: print and manage labels for installation teams; maintain a sign‑out system. Design (Shop Drawings): verify, brainstorm, submit to BIM360, update revisions, hyperlinks; focus on infrastructure (grounding/bonding), copper, fiber, detail sheets. Qualifications Self‑motivated, positive, professional, and able to lead a team to develop and implement project process improvements. Promotes company culture and mission to employees, vendors, clients, and partners. Strong problem‑solving, critical thinking, and communication skills (written and oral). Diagnoses and resolves problems with existing equipment and new installs. Enthusiastic, patient, and critical thinker. Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate with the customer. High skill level in interpreting blueprints, specifications, reporting, and quality requirements. Willing to travel within branch or regional territory as required. Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements High School diploma or GED (Bachelor’s preferred). 3–4 years of commercial low‑voltage/structured cabling experience. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project). Must meet company minimum driving standards. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a scope of work, develop detailed tasks, and manage these to final completion and customer turnover.
