We realize that our future success is determined by how well we exceed our customer's expectations today and guide them through the exciting new changes in the automotive world.The successful candidate should have experience in the diagnosis, mechanical operation, and repair of automobiles. The automotive technician will work closely with the service manager and the rest of the Volkswagen service team.Any job offer will be conditioned on passing a drug test for the following substances: Benzodiazepines, Barbiturates, Methadone, Propoxyphene, Cocaine, Heroin, Codeine, Morphine, Amphetamines, PCP. We do not test for marijuana or THC.Responsibilities:Completes service and repair assignments correctly in the specified time frame, ensuring repairs pass quality inspections and test drives.Diagnoses and corrects mechanical and electrical problems in accordance with manufacturer specifications.Explains technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-technical individuals which may include other teammates and customers as required.Uses manuals, computer systems, and technical bulletins to complete the repair order.Stays up to date on the latest technical services and all information pertinent (i.e., dealership policies and procedures) to the automotive technician position through trainings, bulletins, campaigns, etc.Maintains a clean and well-organized work area; performs preventative maintenance, cleaning, and repairs on dealership tools and equipment.Always maintains safe working practices and abides by working rules and standards; follows all hazardous waste and OSHA safety regulations and company policies.Coordinates with parts department to ensure parts are available to complete repair; properly disposes of used parts and returns unused parts to the parts person or location.Promotes the dealership by always presenting a professional image and positive attitude; demonstrates commitment to other staff, customers, dealership, and company.Works collaboratively with internal and external customers/provides technical assistance and support to team members as needed.Requirements:One year experience in the automotive repair industry as a technician or mechanic is preferred. – Hiring immediately!ASE and brand certifications are a plus.High school diploma or GED required.Possess or be willing to purchase your own tools.Attention to detail, organization, and communication skills are essential to a successful technician.Be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver's license.University Volkswagen offers a success-focused, family environment, and a competitive benefits package.All full-time employees of Freeway Motors, Inc. are eligible for our comprehensive benefits package which includes: Company subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance; fully subsidized EAP, LTD, life, and AD&D insurance; 401k with company match; starting 96 hours per year of PTO; paid company holidays.We love to find people who are driven and motivated!
