Senior Manager, Software Engineering - Personalization & Insights

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience
• Experience coaching and mentoring, leading technology projects and Agile teams, and working with product owners on scrum and backlog execution
• Strong hands-on coding experience building systems for high availability, resiliency, low latency, and scale
• Proficiency with Java and Spring/Spring Boot, distributed systems, and cloud, hybrid, or on-premises platforms, particularly AWS
• Expertise in streaming, messaging, and big data ecosystems, including Kafka and Spark (Spark SQL, tuning, and architecture), plus high-throughput messaging such as Kinesis
• Experience with AWS big data services such as Lambda, Glue, and EMR; NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or MongoDB; and cloud-native big data patterns and services
• Deep front-end engineering expertise with React, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML/CSS, micro-frontends, reusable component libraries, design systems, accessibility, responsive design, REST APIs, state management, Git, and automated UI testing such as Jest or React Testing Library
• Experience leading responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools, defining review and validation practices, measuring outcomes, and ensuring secure data handling
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, resiliency, security, and governance, with the ability to coach engineers on compliant and effective use
• Preferred: Flink experience and stream-processing expertise

• Lead one or more engineering teams, manage day-to-day execution against product priorities, support predictable delivery, and remove impediments
• Coach and mentor engineers on technical implementation, tasks, and engineering best practices
• Build an effective, inclusive, and respectful team culture, and support talent hiring, development, and recognition
• Work with product and business leaders to shape technology strategy, roadmaps, and integration patterns with related product areas
• Translate complex or ambiguous business needs into implementable technical designs, anticipate dependencies, and coordinate cross-team delivery
• Promote engineering excellence and governance throughout the software development lifecycle, including automation, CI/CD, testing, performance, resiliency, and scalability; maintain accountability for controls and operational health
• Design and deliver reusable solutions, including performant APIs for high-volume payloads, using microservices, domain-driven design, data modeling, and event or streaming architectures across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments
• Lead adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and SDLC/TLM automation, setting expectations for human validation, secure input and output handling, and reusable patterns
• Apply software development lifecycle toolchain capabilities, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation, to improve automation value and support capacity initiatives
