Associate Attorney

Responsibilities Provide oversight and management of high-volume statewide foreclosure matters Ensure all appropriate actions are taken to expedite the firm’s files Act as a liaison between the firm and clients, vendors, outside counsel, courts, trustees, and other foreclosure personnel Manage files by applicable foreclosure rules and firm-established timelines Work within the firm’s case management system to create, manage, and review daily and weekly reports Review and execute various pleadings and correspondence Maintain accurate updates in client and firm management systems Outline, prepare, and present pleadings and other legal documents Argue the merits of assigned cases at hearings, conferences, mediations, or trials Attend and/or conduct public auctions as needed Review title searches to identify any title issues and to determine the proper parties to serve Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Admitted to practice in New York Admitted to practice in New York’s federal district courts and/or other states a plus Experience in real estate, mortgage and/or commercial litigation strongly preferred Knowledge of FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, as well as any applicable state and federal debt collection and real property law a plus Experience in foreclosure and real estate law a plus; if none, must be willing to learn Exceptional communication skills (oral and written) Ability to travel as needed Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively Proficiency in legal research, writing, and document drafting Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality A portable book of business is a plus Hard Skills Foreclosure Management Legal Document Drafting Case Management Pleading Preparation Title Search Review Soft Skills Exceptional Communication Skills Ability To Manage Multiple Tasks Collaborative Work Style Commitment To Ethical Standards Certifications & Qualifications Admitted To Practice In New York Federal Courts #J-18808-Ljbffr
