Plant Accountant

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Plant Accountant to support financial operations in Mills River, NC. This hands-on accounting role serves as a key business partner to plant leadership, ensuring accurate cost accounting, inventory reporting, financial analysis, and compliance while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability. This is a full time, 3+ month temporary assignment.Ready to apply Before you do, make sure to read all the details pertaining to this job in the description below.ResponsibilitiesOversee cost accounting activities, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysisLead month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reportingPrepare and analyze plant financial results, providing insights into operational and cost performancePartner with plant leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-makingDevelop financial models and analyses to support pricing, capital investments, and continuous improvement initiativesMonitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical inventories, resolving discrepancies as neededManage fixed asset accounting, capital expenditure tracking, and depreciation schedulesEnsure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policiesSupport internal and external audits while identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and efficienciesServe as a key financial business partner to operations leadership, translating operational activity into actionable financial insightsQualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysisExperience xhyhwjd working with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skillsSolid understanding of GAAP and internal control principlesExperience supporting contract manufacturing operationsHours:Temporary 3+ month contract assignmentMonday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM100% onsite positionCompensation & Benefits:$35 - $42 hourlyFGP offers contract employees benefits including minimum essential coverage insurance, a fixed indemnity plan and a 401k retirement plan once eligibility requirements are met
