Job Description

The Quality Inspector ensures that manufactured products consistently meet established quality standards and customer requirements. This role focuses on interpreting blueprints and specifications, conducting detailed inspections and tests, and working closely with production teams to drive continuous improvement in product quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Follow and enforce quality standards for manufactured products and ensure they are consistently applied throughout the production process.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, prints, and specifications to verify that operations and finished parts meet production and quality standards.

• Inspect and test materials, components, and finished products using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.

• Perform visual inspections to identify defects, nonconformities, or deviations from specifications.

• Conduct random inspections during production to assess ongoing product quality and process adherence.

• Accept or reject finished products based on inspection results and clearly document findings.

• Remove products that do not meet production standards and ensure they are properly segregated and documented.

• Recommend adjustments or changes to production processes to improve product quality and reduce defects.

• Discuss inspection results with the production team and collaborate to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.

• Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure that all quality documentation is complete and up to date.

• Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of quality issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

• Promote and reinforce adherence to quality rules, procedures, and regulations across the production area.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of mechanical inspection experience, preferably within an aerospace or similar precision manufacturing environment.

• Hands-on experience in quality control, quality inspection, and quality assurance activities within a manufacturing setting.

• Proficiency in reading and working from drawings, blueprints, prints, and technical specifications to verify part conformance.

• Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection instruments.

• Strong visual inspection abilities with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

• Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, evaluate, and resolve quality issues.

• Technical aptitude and ability to understand blueprints, documents, and manuals related to product and process requirements.

• Knowledge of basic math and computer skills to support measurement, documentation, and reporting activities.

• Good verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey inspection results and collaborate with production teams.

• Ability to influence others to follow established rules, regulations, and quality procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with aerospace components or other high-precision mechanical products is preferred but not required.

• Professional history in inspection, quality control, quality assurance, or related disciplines within a manufacturing environment.

• Comfort working with various inspection gadgets and tools and adapting to new equipment as needed.

• Demonstrated reliability and consistency in applying quality standards and procedures.

• Ability to work effectively on different shifts and adapt to changing production priorities.

Work Environment

This role is based in a clean manufacturing environment where most of the work is performed on your feet, requiring regular movement around the production floor to conduct inspections. You will work with precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges, as well as technical drawings and computer-based documentation systems. Multiple positions are available on both first and second shifts. First shift typically runs from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, with additional hours from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday. Second shift typically runs from 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM Monday through Friday, with additional hours from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday. The environment supports structured processes, adherence to quality standards, and teamwork between inspection and production personnel.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendale, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
