Preferred: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred. Experience Required – Three (3) years’ experience as a respiratory therapist. Preferred – Pediatric and adult respiratory therapy experience. Reservists (YOU) are part of an elite, all-hazards response cadre who are available to work intermittently, commit to working when needed, and travel/deploy within 24-48 hours. National EMR has spent most of our time in the emergency support functions (ESF) of mass care, emergency assistance, housing, human services, public health, and medical services as our core mission areas. Responsibilities and Duties Understand and adhere to the National EMR Policies and Procedures Manual, Uniform Handbook, and Operations Manual. Foster a culture that encourages team members to work safely, identify potential hazards, and report safety concerns immediately to their direct chain of command. Maintain active status within the agency’s platforms, including learning management systems to complete training that may be directed toward self-improvement, mission-specifics, or Just-In-Time (JIT) training. Responsible for administering respiratory tests and treatment to clients. Cleaning and sterilizing respiratory therapy equipment and performing operational maintenance. Communicate and collaborate with appropriate medical staff (Physician, APP, RN, LVN, or Pharmacy) as needed. Assist with process improvement in reviewing, writing and updating respiratory protocols and procedures in collaboration with Medical Services Division. Effectively communicate, consult and interact with the RN Manager/Clinic Director on policy and procedure issues affecting the quality of respiratory services. Meets patient’s goals and needs and provides quality care by conducting pulmonary function tests; assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and by prescription. Helps patient accomplish treatment plan and supports life by administering inhalants; operating mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators. Administers respiratory therapy treatments by performing bronchopulmonary drainage; assisting with breathing exercises; monitoring physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, and blood chemistry changes. Evaluates effects of respiratory therapy treatment plan by observing, noting, and evaluating patient’s progress; recommending adjustments and modifications. Other duties as assigned. Provide proof of valid driver’s license and driving record in good standing with no restrictions (subject to review annually). Maintain intermediate to advanced computer literacy (specifically Microsoft Suite). g. Be detail oriented and organized. h. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team. i. Utilize a variety of communication systems to provide situational awareness across the response (cellular, two-way radio, satellite, etc.). j. Perform physical activity such as extensive walking, stretching, bending and occasionally lifting and/or exceeding 50 lbs. k. Work extended hours and/or non-traditional hours (Ex. Weekends, evenings, holidays, in austere conditions).
