Job Title Controls Technician Job Overview This is a senior-level Controls Technician role focused on delivering mission-critical BMS service projects across Northern & Central New Jersey. Candidates must operate independently at a high level, leading troubleshooting, programming, commissioning, and integration tasks in live data center environments. This role directly supports a key client with high uptime and compliance requirements. Responsibilities Lead troubleshooting, programming, commissioning, and integration tasks in live data center environments. Deliver mission-critical BMS service projects across Northern & Central New Jersey. Operate independently at a high level to support a key client with high uptime and compliance requirements. Interpret and apply mechanical drawings and control schematics. Set up new equipment in existing sites and commission them effectively. Essential Skills 5-12+ years hands‑on experience in BMS, SCADA, PLCs, or HVAC controls. Independent troubleshooting and commissioning in live data centers. Proficiency in Wonderware/Aveva. Ability to interpret and apply mechanical drawings and control schematics. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with automation, controls, PLC programming, Wonderware Intouch, Ignition, and Allen Bradley or Rockwell PLC. Work Environment This role involves commuting from home to project sites within 30 miles, with mileage reimbursement for extensive travel. The focus is on the service side, but there may be new projects requiring installation work. The position includes remote work from a home office when not traveling. Projects are typically small and defined, involving starting up and commissioning new equipment in existing sites. There is heavy team support, and subcontractors will handle wire pulling and panel installation. No heavy lifting is required. Job Type & Location Permanent position based out of Parsippany‑Troy Hills, NJ. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $62.50/hr.
