Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Adult)

Location

Rochester, NY

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across all emergency diagnoses, maintaining a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform triage, IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV vasopressor management
• Manage ventilator, CPAP, and BiPAP support for critically ill patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, managing dysrhythmias as needed
• Care for patients presenting with CVA/stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, TBI, gunshot wounds, and orthopedic trauma
• Float within skillset as required and maintain isolation precautions per unit protocol

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State single-state RN license (must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of emergency room nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications (valid NIHSS required at submission)
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records (hard requirement)
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with specialized emergency equipment including Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• Background in dedicated pediatric emergency care, including pediatric spinal cord injury
• Familiarity with advanced stroke care protocols in a certified stroke center environment
