Account Manager – Environmental & Waste Services (Remote, US)

Our client is a fast-growing, provider of managed waste and recycling programs for small and midsized businesses across the country. They're hiring an Account Manager to own a portfolio of customer accounts and turn day-to-day service into long-term partnerships. This is a fully remote role open to candidates anywhere in the US, with about 30% travel for account visits and business reviews.

Projects You'll Work On

• Own a portfolio of SMB and mid-market customer accounts, acting as the main point of contact for service, renewals, and growth.
• Build trusted relationships with business owners and operators by understanding their goals and shaping solutions around them.
• Grow accounts by expanding into new locations, additional waste streams, and complementary services.
• Lead regular business reviews that walk customers through performance, savings, and what's next.
• Track account health, spot trends early, and build action plans that keep satisfaction and results moving up.
• Step in on escalations, pulling together Operations, Finance, Sales, and Legal to close issues fast.
• Support contract renewals and pricing conversations that protect margin and account profitability.
• Keep Salesforce and internal systems current with accurate forecasts and account activity.
• Share best practices with teammates and help build a customer-first culture across the account team.

What Experience You Should Bring

• 3 to 5 years in account management, relationship management, sales, or another client-facing role.
• A track record of growing and retaining customer accounts through service, renewals, and organic expansion.
• Comfort running renewals, business reviews, and performance reporting.
• Solid financial acumen. You can read performance data and turn it into a growth plan.
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce and Excel.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the organization to manage multiple accounts at once.
• Bachelor's degree preferred. Strong equivalent experience will also be considered.
