Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a Fast Casual restaurant with a tropical twist, dedicated to inspiring a healthier lifestyle through amazing food and delicious smoothies. Join our dynamic team and be part of the Sunshine Squad where we value your skills and enthusiasm.

We are looking for Shift Leaders who:

• Open the cafe each morning. Available shifts start M-F 6:30AM, Saturday/Sunday 7:30 AM
• Value a positive work environment
• Great each guest with a loud 'Welcome In\ and a Smile
• Prepare food and smoothies according to defined recipes and build guides
• Educate new guests about our menu and healthier for you options -making suggestions
• Suggestive sell supplements, meal pairings and limited time offerings
• Enter guest orders in our point of sale system, collect payments and give change
• Utilize check lists and systems to maintain spotlessly clean cafe and operational excellence
• Want to work in a culture that promotes continued development of management skills
• Help team members realize their full potential

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• 1 year of leadership experience in food service, restaurant, catering or grocery environment with demonstrated increased responsibility
• Knowledge/ability to manage labor cost and food cost
• Experience training, mentoring and coaching individuals 
• Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence in both front of the house and back of the house
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to pass drug test/background check
• Must have reliable transportation

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Cafe Operations

Leads and delegates daily functions of the café:

• Food preparation
• Serving guests
• Employee work assignments
• Proper maintenance and cleanliness of equipment
• 3rd Party Delivery Coordination
• Cash and till management
• Closing operations
• New hire mentoring and training

Staff Development & Training

• Interacts with team members and customers with a fun and welcoming attitude
• Provide regular feedback to employees regarding their performance 
• Presents a consistent, professional image of the cafe, lead by example by following applicable policy and procedures

Guest Satisfaction and Brand Loyalty

• Maintains and exceeds customer expectations to build brand loyalty
• Follows all safety and security policies set by the brand
• Ensures food quality and 100% customer satisfaction

It started on a beach in Florida. The calm gulf waters, friends enjoying games in the sand and a need for replenishment from the warm Florida sun. We started by blending fruits and vegetables together to create unique and refreshing smoothies. And customers lined up for our tasty creations. Then in 1997, we opened our first cafe in Tallahassee, Florida. Guests now had a place to sit and relax while we made their favorite smoothies.
