Automatic Gate Field Service Technician

This is not an entry-level position .

We are seeking a mechanically and electrically inclined service technician with experience in a construction, maintenance, or technical service trade.

Ideal experience includes one or more of the following:

• Automatic gate systems
• Garage doors
• Commercial doors
• Access control systems
• Low-voltage electrical
• Security or CCTV systems
• Electrical service
• Industrial maintenance
• Mechanical equipment repair
• Welding or fabrication
• HVAC service
• Forklift or equipment repair

Applicants whose experience is limited to retail, warehouse, food service, or other non-technical positions are unlikely to be a good fit.

Valley Gates has been serving the Las Vegas Valley for over 25 years, specializing in the installation, repair, and maintenance of automatic gate operators, access control systems, pedestrian gates, and related equipment. We are looking for dependable technicians who take pride in quality workmanship and professional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair automatic gate operators and access control equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and low-voltage control systems.
• Replace motors, gearboxes, loop detectors, photo eyes, receivers, operators, and other gate components.
• Install new automatic gate operators and access control equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
• Accurately document repairs and provide detailed service reports.
• Recommend repairs when additional work is needed.
• Communicate professionally with customers and office staff.
• Safely operate company vehicles and maintain a clean work area.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a mechanical, electrical, construction, or technical service field.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and installation manuals is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys diagnosing problems, working with their hands, and taking pride in fixing equipment correctly the first time. While automatic gate experience is preferred, we are willing to train an experienced technician from a related trade who has strong mechanical aptitude, electrical troubleshooting skills, and a willingness to learn.
