Position Summary

As a Shift Supervisor (Bagel Sous) , you will support daily shop operations by leading shifts, coaching team members, and ensuring culinary and hospitality standards are consistently executed. This hands-on leadership role works closely with restaurant leadership to drive operational excellence, maintain food quality standards, and create exceptional experiences for both guests and employees.

The Bagel Sous serves as a role model on every shift, helping to develop team members, manage daily execution, and ensure all operational responsibilities are completed efficiently and to company standards.

What You'll Do

• Lead daily shift operations and support overall shop performance
• Coach, train, and develop team members across multiple stations
• Ensure food quality, presentation, accuracy, and hospitality standards are consistently met
• Support shift deployment, task management, and break compliance
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and daily operational routines
• Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily goals, priorities, and updates
• Monitor food preparation, inventory levels, prep production, and waste management
• Partner with leadership to maintain labor efficiency and operational excellence
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and create positive customer experiences
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and Department of Health standards
• Support a positive, team-focused culture while driving accountability and results

What We're Looking For

• 1+ years of leadership experience in a restaurant, café, bakery, or hospitality environment
• Passion for food, hospitality, and team development
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Food Safety or ServSafe Certification preferred
• Ability to learn multiple operational functions and support both front- and back-of-house teams
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds
• Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions
• Comfortable working in a kitchen environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and cleaning chemicals
