Make a meaningful impact during a formative stage in children’s lives by supporting students in a dynamic Pre-K Special Education program. This flexible contract opportunity offers the chance to work closely with young learners aged 3–5 who benefit from patience, care, and skilled teaching tailored to a range of abilities.
In this full-time role (37.5 hours per week), you’ll collaborate with a dedicated staff to provide individualized support. The position focuses on essential development areas such as communication, social-emotional skills, and daily living tasks—making a real difference in students’ school journeys.
Qualifications:
- Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with Special and General Education Endorsements for Pre-K
- Previous experience (preferred) with special needs students aged 3–5
- Strong understanding of various disabilities and behavioral interventions
- Comfort with assisting students during toilet training/diapering and feeding
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills with students, families, and staff
- Ability to deliver compassionate, creative, and hands-on instructional support
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement lesson plans personalized for diverse learners
- Provide direct instructional support and behavioral guidance to non-verbal or minimally verbal students
- Assist with personal care needs, including toileting and feeding, as part of daily routines
- Collaborate with therapists, paraprofessionals, and families to advance each child’s goals
- Collect data and maintain accurate student records in accordance with IEP requirements
- Foster a welcoming and supportive classroom environment
