Groundskeeper

GroundskeeperBrentwood School, a vibrant and diverse K-12 independent school, is looking for a full time Groundskeeper to begin as soon as possible. We are looking for an individual with groundskeeper experience, preferably in a school environment. This is a "hands-on" position. Our ideal candidate will have grounds and landscaping experience, great people skills, and a history of providing the highest level of customer service. Responsibilities include:Carrying out of daily and long range work orders, of the work as assignedClean and remove debris from all campus walks, including sidewalks and roads. Weeding and cultivating of all shrubs and treesLawn mowing, and edgingPlant, maintain, trim, and prune hedgesPlanting, watering, pruning and trimming of shrubsWeeding planting bedsEmpty campus waste receptaclesPrepare flower beds for growing annualsClean and maintain all gardensDrive as needed on behalf of employer subject to a satisfactory background check result on employee's driving recordOther duties as assigned by the Grounds Supervisor or the Senior Administrative TeamIn addition, a candidate should possess the following personal and professional qualities:A sense of humor and energyEffective communication skillsAn ability to understand and follow school policiesAn interest in and openness to professional growth and developmentEngage in professional and personal development and a commitment to growthParticipate and initiate opportunities that demonstrate one's growth, knowledge, and skillsWhile being vaccinated for COVID-19 is not required, it is strongly recommended.COMPENSATION: Brentwood School's diverse and talented faculty ranges widely in experience level, from those new to teaching to veterans who are experts in their respective disciplines with 30+ years of experience. Our salary range, of $20 to $28 per hour, includes all levels of experience. Salaries are determined based on years of experience, education, full- or part-time status, and number of months worked per school year. Salary ranges do not include benefits i.e. 403b retirement matching, paid lunch and various other benefits of being a member of the Brentwood School community.
