Work Environment

This position is based onsite in a hospital facility located in the heart of Davis, California. The facility boasts a modern and well-equipped treatment area, providing a conducive environment for hands-on therapy. Working hours are Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule. You will have opportunities to collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, occupational therapists, and nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of individualized treatment plans developed by Physical Therapists, ensuring alignment with patient goals and standards of care.
• Perform a variety of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities on patients, focusing on enhancing their physical function.
• Effectively monitor patient progress, documenting observations and reporting notable changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients on exercise techniques, body mechanics, and safety protocols, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery.
• Set up and operate therapeutic equipment to facilitate treatment sessions.
• Maintain accurate records of patient responses to treatment, ensuring clear communication with the supervising Physical Therapist regarding any concerns.
• Keep the treatment area organized and stocked with necessary supplies, creating an efficient workspace for patient care.
• Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records, to streamline clinic operations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic primarily serves individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions. You will work closely with a diverse patient population, enabling you to develop strong relationships and tailor your approach to meet the specific needs of different individuals. Your role is crucial in guiding patients through their rehabilitation journeys, instilling confidence and motivation at every step.

Qualifications

• Current California State Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) License.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Strong foundation in physical therapy treatment techniques and modalities.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with patients and team members.
• Aptitude for following detailed instructions while also working independently.
• CPR/BLS certification is a must.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and clinic management software is preferred.

Preferred Experience

While a background in outpatient orthopedic settings is advantageous, we welcome applicants with a variety of experiences in physical therapy. A minimum of two years of relevant experience is expected to ensure that candidates are prepared for the hands-on nature of this role and can effectively support patient recovery goals.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
